Variety description

The tree reaches a height of 15–25 meters with a trunk diameter of 0.6–1 m by 10 years of age. The crown has a rounded or oval shape; leaves are broadly oval, pubescent, up to 70–80 cm wide. Flowers are pale violet, large, collected in inflorescences up to 30 cm in length; flowering occurs in the 3rd–4th year.

The plant is ready for timber harvesting within 5–8 years. The variety is able to withstand short-term frosts from -25°C to -28°C, though damage to young shoots is possible. The crop is resistant to fungal diseases but sensitive to leaf-eating pests and strong winds due to the brittleness of the branches.

The timber is characterized as light, soft, and resistant to decay and deformation. The variety is less demanding regarding soil composition and moisture than Paulownia tomentosa and is used in the production of veneer, furniture, and paper, as well as being a honey plant and ornamental plant.
