Variety description

10 August 2026

The variety is a hybrid of the species Paulownia catalpifolia and Paulownia fortunei and does not contain P. tomentosa genetics. The plant is characterized by extremely rapid height growth, reaching over 6 meters in a single growing season. In the first years of life, the tree grows actively upward rather than in girth.

The trunk is distinguished by a straight and uniform structure. A feature of the variety is the minimal formation of side branches in the first year, which facilitates plant care. The recommended pruning height for obtaining high-quality timber is 8.0–8.5 meters.

The frost resistance of the variety reaches -20°C. Due to its large leaves, the tree is sensitive to wind loads and requires protection during planting. The time for the timber to be ready for harvesting is 9–10 years, provided that irrigation and nutrient conditions are met.

The recommended planting density varies from 400 to 660 trees per hectare. The variety does not require complex technical pruning, however, the success of cultivation depends on a professional approach and the provision of nutrients.
