The name Frisé is a general designation for a group of curly varieties. The most well-known representatives of this type, bred by the company Clause, are the varieties Frisé Vert Foncé and Frisé Robust. The plants form a dense and compact rosette of dark green, strongly frilled leaves on long petioles.
The varieties are early-maturing, with the period from emergence to the first cutting being 30–45 days. The crop is resistant to low temperatures and is suitable for cultivation in open field and protected cultivation. After cutting, the plants regrow quickly, allowing for 3–5 harvests per season with an interval of 25–35 days.
The leaves have an intense aroma. The produce is intended for sale in fresh form, for garnish, and for culinary processing, including drying.
