Phacelia tanacetifolia is an annual plant reaching a height of up to 100 cm. The plant has erect stems and pinnately dissected leaves resembling tansy leaves. Inflorescences are formed as dense coils with blue-violet flowers.
The crop is used as a honey plant and green manure to improve soil structure, suppress weeds, and combat nematodes. The plant is characterized by rapid development, but it is not winter-hardy.
