The plant type is tall, requiring the installation of supports in the form of poles or twine. The planting pattern is 50x100 cm with a placement of up to 6 seeds per pole or 3 seeds per twine. Agricultural practices include sowing in May-June and harvesting from July to September; irrigation is required during dry periods if necessary.

The plant has pubescent leaves and pods. At a young age, the pods are fleshy and suitable for consumption, however, as they ripen, they become fibrous and tough, after which only the grains are used. The variety is also known by the local names «Kotar» and «Laški bel».
