The plant is a vigorous climbing vine reaching a height of 1.8 to 3 meters. It belongs to late-maturing forms, with a grain ripening period of 80–85 days or more. The variety is distinguished by high ornamental value due to large bicolored red-white flowers and flat green pods 15–20 cm long.

The seeds are characterized by their large size and often have a variegated or bicolored pattern. The crop is more resistant to cool climates compared to common bean (Phaseolus vulgaris). In cooking, the variety is used both for harvesting young green pods and for the consumption of dry grain.

The plant is an heirloom variety and has no patent restrictions. Due to its spectacular flowering, the variety is often grown for ornamental purposes for vertical landscaping, as well as a vegetable crop.
