The Tápiói cirmos variety is a low-growing bush form of the common bean (Phaseolus vulgaris L. var. nanus). The plant has a diploid chromosome set of 2n = 22 and is used as a reference specimen in cytogenetic research.

This variety is classified as a table bean. In agronomic publications, it is mentioned primarily in the context of research on the susceptibility of legumes to viral diseases and infestation by pests, such as weevils of the Bruchinae subfamily.
