The variety belongs to the intermediate type, combining properties of hay and pasture plants. It possesses good rooting ability and rapid regrowth after mowing or grazing. The plant is characterized by a high leaf-to-stem ratio and energy value of the forage.
The variety has high winter hardiness and resistance to diseases, in particular to infection by fungi of the genus Drechslera. Due to its biological compatibility with other species, Presto is widely used in grass-legume mixtures intended for intensive hay, haylage production, and livestock grazing.
