The variety was developed at the Priekuļi Research Center in Latvia. It is characterized by good winter hardiness and disease resistance, and is also capable of providing a high-quality forage base.
The material is recognized at the international level and is included in seed gene bank collections, including the Svalbard Global Seed Vault. Detailed morphological descriptions of the variety in open sources are absent; it appears more frequently in comparative studies as a sample adapted to Baltic conditions.
