The variety Tia is intended for use as a fodder crop, including the production of hay, silage, haylage, and use in pastures. The variety is adapted to northern latitudes and the climatic conditions of Estonia.
During selection trials, the variety demonstrated high productivity, and in terms of dry matter yield, it was not inferior to other selection numbers and varieties of Swedish breeding.
