The variety is a bunchgrass with a loose-clump tillering type, adapted to the conditions of northern latitudes. It is characterized by a high crude protein content in the forage mass and is responsive to fertilizer application, which contributes to increased dry matter yield.
Like other varieties of this species, Tika is sensitive to the timing of harvest. The nutritional value of the plant decreases significantly after passing the optimal development phase associated with stem formation.
