The plant reaches 10–15 cm in height and forms compact carpets of narrow dark-green foliage. Flowers with a diameter of about 2 cm have a star shape with notched petal edges. The variety possesses high drought tolerance and frost resistance, adapted to USDA zones 4a–9b.
Flowering begins in April or May and lasts up to 4 weeks, completely covering the foliage. The plant prefers sunny areas with well-drained, poor soils. It is used in landscape design for creating carpet cover, rock garden decoration, retaining walls, and cultivation in containers.
