The plant possesses evergreen or semi-evergreen awl-shaped foliage. The habit forms as a compact and multi-stemmed "carpet". Flowers have a light lavender-pink hue with a characteristic wine-purple eye in the center.

Flowering occurs in early spring and lasts about five weeks. The variety has high winter hardiness, resistance to lodging, and drought tolerance after establishment. The plant is suitable for rock gardens, borders, slopes, and container planting.
