The plant is a hybrid of Phygelius aequalis and Phygelius capensis. It is a semi-evergreen shrub reaching a height of 10 to 50 cm. It has dark green triangular-ovate leaves up to 8 cm in length.
Flowering is accompanied by the appearance of tubular drooping flowers of a pink-purple shade, about 3 cm long. Inflorescences are terminal, paniculate, and can reach 60 cm in length. The plant prefers a sunny location and humus-rich, moist, well-drained soils. Frost resistance corresponds to zone H5.
