The plant is a bushy perennial ranging from 50 to 90 cm in height. The tubular, drooping flowers are light yellow in color; the foliage has a pine-green shade.
The variety is fast-growing and does not require staking; pinching is recommended to improve branching. The plant is winter hardy in USDA zones 7–10; in colder climates, it is grown as an annual or requires protection.
Good soil drainage is necessary for normal development, especially during the winter period. When used as a cut flower, the vase life is about one week; the plant attracts hummingbirds and other pollinators.
