The plant is a hybrid of the genus Phygelius × rectus, obtained as a result of crossing Phygelius aequalis and Phygelius capensis. The variety is known under the trade name Candy Drops Ivory; its registration breeding code is Kerphyvory.
Externally, it is a shrub or perennial reaching a height of 60 to 120 cm. The inflorescences are paniculate, consisting of tubular creamy-white flowers resembling fuchsia flowers. The plant is characterized as moderately winter-hardy, requiring a protected location or covering in cold regions.
