The variety was obtained in 2005 as a result of selection from the form Picea glauca «Zuckerhut». The plant forms a dense symmetrical shrub with short soft needles that densely cover the vertically growing shoots.

The variety is distinguished by a very slow growth rate of 2–3 cm per year. At maturity, the spruce reaches a height of about 0.8 m with a crown diameter of 0.5 m. The plant is undemanding to growing conditions, prefers sunny areas, and is characterized as hardy.
