Variety description

10 August 2026

Idalgo belongs to the afila type (semi-leafless pea). The plant reaches a height of 70–80 cm and is characterized as mid-early with a growing period of about 60 days. The pods have a dark green color and a straight shape with a length of up to 8 cm; the seeds are wrinkled.

The variety has complex resistance to Fusarium, powdery mildew, and downy mildew, and is also characterized by high lodging resistance. The grains have a sweet taste and a tender structure that is maintained even when overripe. The produce accumulates protein and vitamin C.

The variety is adapted to various growing conditions and is resistant to stress factors. It is intended for canning, freezing, and fresh market sale. The origin of the variety is linked to breeding lines GP0745-BC2 and FP2318.
