The variety Maja is registered as a fodder pea in a number of European national variety registers. In official descriptive lists, it is included in the category of grain legumes, however, detailed agronomic characteristics of the plant are absent in open publications.

In the scientific community, the variety Maja is used as a model object when researching the functional properties of pea protein, including the study of its solubility, foaming and emulsifying qualities, as well as the composition of globulins.
