The variety was bred from a North German initial line through selection for drought resistance and adaptation to the winter period. The plant is characterized by a deep root system and good tolerance to temperature fluctuations.

It is used primarily as part of pasture grass mixtures for feeding sheep and dairy cattle. The forage mass of the variety is characterized by an increased content of copper, selenium, and cobalt. The crop helps to reduce nitrogen leaching in pasture systems and is suitable for cultivation on various soil types.
