The plant height of this variety is in the range of 33–35 cm. The variety is intended for inclusion in grass mixtures, in particular, for landscaping shaded areas, due to the biological characteristics of the species.
Barchopin is not intended for use as a forage plant. The species Poa nemoralis differs in its ecological requirements from other representatives of the bluegrass genus, such as Kentucky bluegrass (Poa pratensis).
