Variety description

The variety is a hybrid of Canadian poplar, bred at the Forest Research Institute ERTI. It was obtained during controlled crossing of the parental forms P. deltoides and P. nigra.

The wood of the variety belongs to the second density group (361–400 kg/m³) and is characterized by physical and mechanical properties approaching those of mature wood even in young trees. This makes the variety suitable for the production of packaging and pallets.

The variety is included in the national list of recommended trees for planting in Hungary. It belongs to fast-growing crops and is considered one of the main clones grown for the production of commercial timber.
