Cluthagold trees have medium vigor, with a moderately dense and spreading crown. Fruits ripen late, one week after the Watkins variety and 11 days after Goldrich.

Fruits have a rectangular-oblong, asymmetrical shape and orange, slightly bumpy skin with a faint anthocyanin blush. The flesh is firm, light orange, and medium-grained in texture. The pit is medium-sized, rounded, and semi-freestone.

The variety is resistant to bacterial canker Pseudomonas syringae.
