The variety was bred as part of a breeding program at the Faculty of Horticulture in Lednice, Czech Republic, using genetic material obtained with the participation of Professor L. F. Hough from Rutgers University. It belongs to the first generation of varieties created during this program.
The fruits of the variety show reduced resistance to frost during the flowering period. According to the results of testing conducted in the Czech Republic in 2002–2003, the variety was classified as meeting the "virus-free" certification level.
