The variety belongs to the local ecotypes of the Campania region in Italy and is part of the "Vesuvian apricot" group, formed through centuries of folk selection. Trees of this variety have a characteristic fastigiate crown type, having a narrow, pyramidal, or columnar shape.

The fruits of the variety are in demand due to pronounced organoleptic properties, including a high content of carotenoids. Traditionally, the produce is used for fresh consumption, as well as in the confectionery industry for the production of juices, syrups, and jams.
