The tree is characterized as vigorous, with a wide, spreading crown. The fruits are large, round, with a dull orange-yellow or bright orange skin, often having a red blush. The fruit flesh is orange in color, moderately firm.

The variety is of early or medium-early maturity, usually ripening by the end of July. The level of winter hardiness is comparable to the Wenatchee Moorpark variety; the tree is moderately sensitive to spring frosts. The productivity of the variety can be unstable across different seasons.

Skaha is considered a partially self-fertile plant or one that requires cross-pollination; the Sundrop variety is often recommended as a pollinator.
