The Boppardská raná variety (also known as Frühe von Boppard or Bopparder Frühkirsche) belongs to the group of early heart-shaped varieties with soft, juicy flesh. The fruits are medium-sized, dark red in color, and sweet-tasting, with deeply pigmented juice.
This variety is included in genetic studies, and its self-incompatibility genotype has been determined as S3S6. In terms of cultivation, the fruit shows a tendency to crack. Trees of this old variety can be trained as high-stem forms.
