Variety description

10 August 2026

The tree is characterized by vigorous growth; at a young age, the crown has an upright shape, which becomes spreading over the years. The leaves of the variety are noticeably larger than those of most other sweet cherries. The fruits have a light color, firm flesh, and colorless juice.

The variety belongs to the mid-early maturity group. Winter hardiness is on the level of standard varieties, such as Royal Ann. Regarding resistance to bacterial canker, data varies: the variety is mentioned as possessing certain resistance, however, it is sometimes used in tests as a control sample of susceptibility.

Corum is a self-sterile variety. It effectively pollinates varieties such as Royal Ann and Rainier. For its own pollination, varieties blooming in a similar period are suitable, in particular Bing, Van, Sam, and Royal Ann.
