Prunus avium (L.) L. Sweet cherry · Fruit crops

Variety description

10 August 2026

The variety is early-maturing: harvesting begins in late May. The fruits are small in size, with smooth, bright yellow skin with a diffuse red blush and an abundance of small lenticels. The flesh is cream-white or light orange in color, not very firm, and slightly fibrous. The stone is of medium size and sub-rounded in shape.

The taste of the fruits is very sweet, with moderate acidity. In the regions of cultivation, trees are often grafted onto Mahaleb cherry rootstock, which limits their height to 4–5 meters. The variety is traditionally consumed fresh and is also used in local cooking, particularly as an ingredient for baking.
