The variety belongs to the late-ripening sweet cherry group and is autochthonous to the territory of Slovenia. There is data indicating the identity of the genotype of this variety with other local varieties, such as Popovka.
The variety is included in the official variety lists of Slovenia, however, detailed agrotechnical characteristics, including the description of plant height, resistance to diseases and chemical composition of fruits, are absent in available scientific publications, as the variety has been studied mainly within the framework of collection orchards.
