The variety is a natural mutation of well-known sweet cherry varieties. The variant originating from the Lambert variety has Napoleon-type fruits with dark suture lines. There is also the Rainbow Stripe Stella Cherry, which is a mutation of the Stella variety and retains its characteristics except for its appearance.

The fruits of the variety have decorative stripes on the skin. The variety has a high fruit cracking index, which is why it has no industrial significance and is grown primarily by collectors as a rare garden curiosity.
