The Ramon Oliva tree reaches a height of up to 4 meters and has a flat-rounded crown with sparse, often drooping branches. The variety is classified as early or very early, with the crop ripening from late May to early June.
Fruits weighing 5–6 g have a broad-heart shape and a deep ventral suture. The dark red skin at maturity becomes almost black; the light red flesh with pink veins is distinguished by a tender texture and a sweet taste. The variety is a table type; the fruits are prone to cracking in high humidity and are poorly suited for processing.
Ramon Oliva is a self-incompatible variety. Suitable pollinators include the varieties Daiber's Black, Aprelka, Franz Joseph, Napoleon Rose, Cassini Red, and Hedelfinger. The tree is characterized by high winter hardiness and resistance to diseases and pests, but is sensitive to excessive soil moisture.
