The Amelia variety is a plum rootstock selected from seedlings of Prunus cerasifera Ehrh. var. divaricata Led. It is not intended for fruit production and is used in horticulture as a clonal rootstock.

The plant exhibits vigorous growth and is recommended for use in sandy soils. Amelia is also used in research on interspecific hybridization as a maternal form due to its good compatibility with other plum species and apricot.
