The rootstock was developed through clonal selection of Prunus cerasifera or hybridization of Prunus cerasifera with Prunus spinosa. It is used exclusively for grafting stone fruit crops to improve scion productivity and control tree vigor, providing it with moderate development energy.
The plant adapts well to various soil types, including heavy, clay, and calcareous soils, and also shows tolerance to waterlogging and water stagnation. It possesses high resistance to bacterial canker and relative resistance to root rot.
When using this rootstock, trees enter fruit-bearing earlier, demonstrate stable yields, and show an improvement in fruit size and coloration. Specific features of the rootstock include a possible tendency toward root sucker formation and peculiarities of metabolism in the grafted plant.
