The variety is used as a rootstock and an interstock for sweet cherry, plum, peach, nectarine, apricot, and almond. It ensures good vigor of grafted trees and high anchorage, while exhibiting a low tendency to form root suckers.

The plant possesses high resistance to heavy clay and calcareous soils with high pH, as well as to waterlogging (root asphyxia), iron chlorosis, and fungal root diseases, in particular Armillaria. When used as a rootstock, it may slightly accelerate the fruit ripening of the grafted variety.
