The variety is late-maturing: fruits ripen from the end of August to the middle of September. The vigorous or medium-vigorous tree forms a spreading or drooping crown, which can take on a spherical shape with age. The variety shows tolerance to the plum pox virus and possesses good viability.
Fruits weighing 25–30 g have an oblong-oval shape with a narrowing at the stalk. The skin is dark blue or purple with a waxy bloom. The flesh is yellow or yellow-green, firm, juicy, and sweet. The variety is a benchmark for prune production and is also used for canning and processing.
Data on the self-fertility type of the variety varies, and therefore it is sometimes recommended to plant pollinator varieties, such as Stanley or President, to ensure stable yields.
