Eruni is a rootstock, not a fruit-bearing variety. In horticultural practice, it has been studied as an alternative to traditional rootstocks, such as Myrobalan or Wangenheim Prune seedlings, with the aim of creating less vigorous trees.
The plant is characterized by a relatively low rooting ability of hardwood cuttings, amounting to approximately 39.7%. In scientific studies, the Eruni rootstock was examined in the context of its influence on tree vigor, survival rate, and yield in comparison with other rootstocks of the Mariana and Pixy groups.
