The name 'Kati' is assigned to a dwarf Russian almond variety in publications dedicated to Hungarian ornamental plant breeding. Information regarding the existence of a cherry laurel variety with this name is absent in agronomic or breeding reference books.

Presumably, the classification of this variety as a cherry laurel in catalogs occurred due to an erroneous conflation of variety names within the Prunus genus.
