Shrub with a height of 1.5–2 m, in some conditions reaching 1–1.5 m. At a young age, the crown has a flattened-globular shape, eventually becoming wider. The leaves are dark green, elliptical, with a dull luster.
The plant is used as a specimen plant, for creating decorative compositions, low hedges, and for container cultivation; it tolerates pruning well. The variety possesses good winter hardiness.
