The shrub has a dense upright or broad funnel-shaped habit, reaching 1.2–1.5 m in height and width. The plant tolerates pruning well and is suitable for solitary and group plantings, creating hedges, as well as container gardening.

The main feature of the variety is its shiny leathery leaves 5–9 cm long with a serrated edge. In May–June, the plant blooms with upright white fragrant racemes, after which black drupes may appear.

The variety possesses high frost resistance and resistance to common diseases, including leaf spot and downy mildew. The plant contains toxic compounds, making the leaves and fruits poisonous if ingested.
