The rootstock is a natural hybrid of Prunus davidiana and Prunus persica. In the first years, the tree exhibits vigorous growth, which weakens over time, with the rootstock overall being less vigorous than GF 677.
The plant possesses high resistance to root-knot nematodes and tolerates waterlogging, calcareous soils, and sites with low organic matter content well. The rootstock is suitable for replanting peach on old sites, however, it shows sensitivity to Phytophthora.
The use of this rootstock promotes earlier entry into fruiting, an increase in fruit size, and intensity of their coloration. The harvest ripening period is accelerated by several days compared to using the GF 677 rootstock.
