The rootstock was bred from apricot seedlings collected in the South Moravia region. Its primary purpose is for grafting cultivated peach varieties.
The plant is characterized by a vigorous growth habit. It develops best in light, permeable, nutritious soils with a neutral or slightly alkaline reaction.
The rootstock is sensitive to high calcium content in the soil. In heavy and waterlogged areas, root asphyxia may occur due to a lack of oxygen.
