The rootstock is a hybrid of Prunus persica × Prunus davidiana. It forms a powerful, deep, and well-branched root system, which provides the tree with good drought tolerance and reliable anchorage in the soil. Trees on this rootstock are characterized by strong growth, comparable to the GF 677 rootstock.
The plant exhibits tolerance to high pH, calcareous and alkaline soils, as well as resistance to waterlogging and soil-borne pathogens characteristic of peach replant sites. The use of this rootstock can delay bud break, flowering, and fruit ripening of the scion by 5–7 days.
