The variety was selected from peach tree samples collected by the researcher Reinecke in the Transvaal region. It belongs to the category of clingstone peaches traditionally used in the canning industry.
The harvest period of the variety falls on the same week as the South African variety Kakamas. The variety was developed to improve fruit characteristics, however, detailed morphological characteristics of the plant and indicators of disease resistance are absent in publications.
