The Laure peach variety of Italian breeding is characterized by a late ripening period. In comparative agronomic studies, this variety is classified as suitable for regions requiring a late harvest.
Pesca Settembrina is not a specific variety, but rather a group of traditional autochthonous Italian peaches ripening in September–November. Fruits of this group are known for high organoleptic qualities, and in some regions, they are cultivated using individual wrapping of each fruit in paper bags for protection. Studies show resistance in a number of samples of this group to leaf curl caused by the fungus Taphrina deformans.
