The variety is a deciduous shrub or small tree with an open crown type, reaching 3 meters in height and 2.5–3 meters in width. Leaves are elliptical, narrow and pointed, 12–15 cm long, turning yellow in autumn.
Flowering occurs in March–April before leaf emergence. Flowers are double, bright pink, 5–6 cm in diameter. The variety forms small edible fruits with white flesh and pubescent skin, which ripen in late summer or autumn.
The plant is resistant to spring frosts and a number of diseases, and tolerates pruning well. Frost resistance ranges from -10°C to -18°C. Prefers a sunny location and well-drained soils with a neutral or slightly acidic/alkaline reaction.
