The variety is used as a model specimen in the study of the genetic basis of peach flesh coloration. Scientific research has established that the accumulation of anthocyanins in the fruit of this variety is due to a deletion in the PpPSAK gene.
Open publications lack data on the agronomic and economic characteristics of the variety, such as plant height, fruit usage, or disease resistance. The variety should not be confused with the Montar variety, which has different morphological traits.
