The variety NJ 224, also known as Adria, was obtained as a result of a complex crossing of hybrids (Sunhigh x Blake) x 5110043. The tree is distinguished by smaller-than-standard size and the presence of relatively short internodes.
The fruits have a round or slightly oval shape and are characterized by a red striped color on a light yellow background. The yellow flesh has moderate firmness. The variety matures 7–10 days before the variety Collins.
Under artificial inoculation conditions, the variety demonstrated resistance to the fungus Fusicoccum canker.
