The name denotes a group of peaches with a flat fruit shape, also known as donut or saturn peaches. The fruits have velvety skin, the color of which varies from white to bright red, and the flesh can be white or yellow.
Traditional representatives of this group are characterized by high sweetness and aroma; however, they are prone to cracking in the stem area and have low keeping quality. Modern breeding forms have been created to improve transportability, productivity, and disease resistance.
