The plant is an interspecific hybrid of almond and peach. In the nursery, non-grafted seedlings are distinguished by upright growth, weak branching in the first year, low root sucker formation, and reddish foliage of intermediate morphology.
The rootstock limits the growth vigor of the grafted tree and promotes earlier entry into fruiting. Due to its origin, the hybrid is sensitive to soil waterlogging and requires sites with good drainage.
